Achievements

One of his significant achievements can be traced back to 2015 when he bought HSBC, Brazil for $5.2 billion. This was done after he sought the approval of Lázaro Brandão, the Chairman of the Board at the bank. This is a noteworthy achievement because it opened a way for Bradesco to get back to the top position in the private banking sector. Once Bradesco bought HBSC, the bank got a position ahead of Itaú Unibanco in three segments; branch network, total investments and number of account holders in the bank. His efforts did not go unnoticed as Isto É Dinheiro named him the 2015 Entrepreneur of the year.

With Luiz, the Bradesco bank community has been able to double its assets in more ways than one. The bank has grown organically, and this can be attested to by the figures. Luiz Carlos Trabuco was able to grow the bank’s assets from R $32 billion to R $78 billion within five years (between 2003 and 2008). He also did well in increasing the number of accountants in Bradesco to 27 million form 20 million from the time he took over the ban’s top seat. He has led the bank through the geographic expansion cycle and into the banking inclusion cycle. Also, under his leadership, the service network of the bank has grown, with the bank now having 5, 000 agencies as opposed to 3,500 when he took over leadership.

2016 was yet another good year for Luiz Carlos Trabuco. Having been rated among the top 100 most influential Brazilians, Trabuco’s name became a force to reckon with. He always advocates for banking institutions to work closely with clients and, put the interests of the clients before those of the bank. This is not the norm in a world where most people see the banking service as secondary.
